Protecting credibility
Certification isn’t just a label on a product. It’s a promise to scheme owners, businesses, and consumers that sustainability requirements are being met.
Oversight moves certification beyond a promise into assurance. By combining accreditation with tailored oversight, ASI ensures certification and their sustainability claims stay trustworthy and resilient across industries.
What to expect
Each year, ASI conducts hundreds of assessments across diverse sectors including forestry, fisheries, palm oil, textiles and conservation.
Our oversight activities include scheduled and unannounced assessments, stakeholder consultations, and published reports. By engaging with stakeholders before and after each assessment, we increase transparency and focus on the areas where oversight can have the greatest impact.
Independent field and office assessments show how standards are applied in practice and offer a picture of what works and what needs attention.
Oversight identifies gaps and helps CABs build capacity and improve overtime.
Ongoing monitoring and open dialogue with stakeholders protect certification from fraud and misuse.
