ASI Accreditation assesses your systems, competence, and impartiality against applicable accreditation requirements, giving you the credentials you need to operate with confidence in sustainability certification markets.
This accreditation is distinct from ASI Assurance‘s ongoing oversight of certified operations. Where both organizations are involved, their responsibilities and decision-making remain separate.
Accreditation outcomes are made independently by our independent Accreditation Committee – sustainability experts who bring the knowledge and impartiality needed to make sound, consistent decisions that conformity assessment bodies can rely on.
Sustainability standards and scheme owners
A sustainability standard is only as strong as the certifiers applying it. ASI Accreditation gives scheme owners confidence that every conformity assessment body has the systems, competence and impartiality needed to apply certification requirements consistently.
Our independent verification is what separates a claimed impact from a proven one. It reinforces consistency across certifiers, upholds the neutrality that gives a standard its credibility, and builds the public trust that certification labels depend on.
For applicable programs, we work alongside ASI Assurance and other participating accreditation bodies as necessary. Accreditation remains the responsibility of the relevant accreditation body, while ASI Assurance provides separate assurance and, where applicable, makes the ASI approval decision.
